RE: NAPS 21 DAYS ULTIMATUM TO FG ON BENIN-SAPELE ROAD
While we acknowledge the need for urgent rehabilitation and repair of the Benin-Sapele Axis of the East-West road to ease the stress of motorists plying that roots, the Senate leadership of NAPS hereby distant herself from the purported shenanigan ultimatum issued to the federal government on the 2nd of January 2020 by one imposter by the name Blessing Adogbeji impersonating the Office of the Vice President National Affairs of NAPS.

The senate leadership wish to categorically state, for the information of the public and sake of posterity that election was not conducted for the office of the Vice President National Affairs, PRO, Fin Sec, and some other offices during the last national convention of NAPS and the Senate leadership in consultation with the executive arm led by Comrade Activist Adekanbi Sunday has set machineries in place for a bye election to fill those vacancies in the next senate sitting.

Harmattan Fire: Niger Delta University Residents Records Great Loss (Video)

Niger  Delta University (NDU) Wilberforce island in Amassoma, Bayelsa State witnessed a gruesome spate of harmattan fire as property worth millions were thrown to ashes.

Eye witness report (Comr. M. Julius) gave a quick narrative of this incident, He said:

Amassoma Main Campus Gate) fire outbreak yesterday 3rd January started about few minutes after 5 in the evening.
The fire which did not affect the NDU was started in a trash site by the left flank of RCF Tent by a yet-to-be identified person.
The trash which was all over the back of the first affected batcher (kiosk) made the fire easily gained entrance into the batcher of a book binder.
All attempt to destroy the link batcher which may lead the fire to our office was abortive as the heat was already very fatal. Those familiar with fire incident already sued for evacuation rather than stoppage of the fire as all available water poured looks like mere salivary spit on the fire.
The fire by this time has entered RCF instrument room (not the tent. The tent was not affected) through another batcher and then on to our block office.
From our office, it entered the new bet shop at the side of the bole (plaintain) woman which is the same building with us.
The fire also razed all five batchers from our office to the road. In this line, only Assembly communication (selling phone accessories), the Ibo woman selling mini provisions, popcorn and bole stand were not burnt but efforts to evacuate goods worth millions later met with theft.
The fire continued under our very watchful eye down to universal bookshop where more availale hands then put the fire to a minimum leve before the Bayelsa State Fire Service Trucks arrived.
The Fire Service team helped quenched the fire totally before they left. This was already around 8-9pm.
In all, an estimated 30 shops were razed down, together with other smaller batches and lyster setups supplying small businesses lights in the area.
Most of the business setups in this area are owned by students who have engaged in business to see to their academic welfare as they self-sponsor themselves.
We use this opportunity to appeal to the government, stakeholders, students community for assistance to at least regain these setups.
We thank the students community for the calls and warm messages of solace. The parents for checking on us. Friends and families for encouragements and colleagues for calling to check we are ok.
