A SYNOPSIS ON A 3-DAY SOUTHERN NIGERIA EMANCIPATION WALK.
AIMS/PURPOSE:
1. Restructuring of Nigeria
2. Declaration of STATE OF EMERGENCY on Southern Nigeria roads.
3. Call for the probe of the inspector general of police over corruption allegations.
SCOPE.
The 3-day walk which is to hold from Sunday,1st October to Tuesday, 3rd October 2017 at Okada junction Edo state is to:
1. RESTRUCTURING OF NIGERIA:
i. Call for the federal government to restructure the nation, and give room for true federalism. It is also meant to sensitize the people on the need for true federalism, Resource control, state autonomy and a weaker center of the nation. And to get the people especially youths to rise up and join their voice in this call.
2. DECLARATION OF STATE OF EMERGENCY ON SOUTHERN NIGERIA ROADS.
The walk also aims at calling the attention of the government and people to the injustice on the south as all southern federal roads are in pitiable state viz: Benin Ekpoma Auchi Abuja road, owerri portharcourt road, east-west road, uromi ubiaja onitcha-ugbo road, onitcha enugu express road; amongst others and demanding that immediate steps be taking by the government.
3.THE PROBE OF POLICE INSPECTOR GENERAL.
The walk also aims at demanding the probe of the IGP on corruption allegations levelled against him as enshrined in the mantra of the government, reminding the government that the fight against corruption is not supposed to be selective or metted on a few, especially in a force with sensitive roles in the nation like the Police Force.
We are saying that there are no sacred cows in the fight against corruption!
TARGET.
The walk targets at least 150 persons. We would like to partner with civil society organizations.
After the 3-day walk the Congress will set up a committee that will go round the 17 states reaching out to CDHR, LABOUR ORGANIZATIONS, YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS, STUDENT UNIONS etc on the need to join the campaign at the different levels.
Thank you as we look forward to your partnership and support.
