PARENTS OF LASU STUDENTS DEFY RAIN TO HONOUR PARENTS’ FORUM MEETING WITH THE UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT

Parents and Guardians defied the heavy down – pour early Saturday morning and equally ignored all parties ” Owanbe” to be with the progressive and hard – working University Management of the lagos state university led by the Distinguished Professor of Environmental Law, Prof.

Olanrewaju Fagbohun to robustly discuss some salient matters relating to the entire students and share some progress made/recorded at the Institution.

The Vice Chancellor utilised the platform to debunk the rumour being peddled around by some unscrupulous elements with regard to increment in Tuition/School fee on Social Media channels.

HOther critical issues discussed include but not limited to : stable academic calendar; respect for positive social values, norms and culture by their wards; respect for the University Rules and Regulations; Students to absolutely say NO TO DRUG ABUSE; CULTISM; SEXUAL HARASSMENT & INDECENT DRESSING amongst others.

Prof. Fagbohun commended the Students’ Affairs Division and the leadership of the Students’ Union for their respective commitment to the missions and vision of the current University Administration, adding that Parents/Guardians should join the University Management in appreciating the effort of the Lagos State Government aimed at turning the University to a world – class.

He promised to continue to engage with not only the Students, but, equally, all the Distinguished Stakeholders, Friends and Well-Wishers, and to ensure an all inclusive governance – “WE APPROACH MANTRA”, Transparency and Constructive Dialogue.

The Acting Dean, Students’ Affairs, Dr. Oluwafemi Obayori also advised the Parents to look after their children in order for them to be able to graduate with excellent Cumulative Grade Point Average [CGPA] while the 27th LASUSU, President, Comrade Kappo Samuel Olawale urged Parents and Guardians to continue to monitor/check up their wards while in the University to complement the efforts of the members of staff [Teaching and Non-Teaching] of the citadel of learning where academic excellence is FIRST.

The Chairman, Lagos State University Parents Forum, Mr. Ayo Akwe pledged on behalf of other Parents/Guardians, the total support of the forum to the growth and development of the University.
