The Students Union Transport Management Committee Of Obafemi Awolowo University led by Oluwalade Babatunde(hon babatee) yesterday made an official release putting an end to indiscriminate transportation on OAU campus by commercial drivers known as town agboro.
According to our correspondent, This issue has persisted over the years, town agboro drivers during rush hours convey only passengers going to campus gate while denying those going to town access to transportation, leaving them stranded on campus.
According to a concerned student kayode Oluwaseun who said, “I felt depressed when this happen to me, I have to rush into a bus going to gate. On reaching gate I alight and board another bus going to town”. She further emphasized that the cec members should fulfill their campaign promises especially the president, who promised to provide available cheap buses on campus.
The transport committee pointed out that there is no more town exclusive or gate exclusive bus on campus. Any bus from campus goes to gate/town and drop students at their preferred destinations. They hereby appeal to students to board any bus of their choice at the bus stop. Stating that “action is just as important as awareness”
