The 2016 Batch B (Stream 2) Prospective Corp Members 3(PCM) have threatened to storm the National Youth Service Corp Headquarters in Abuja for a peaceful protest, if the agency continues to delay in the release of the timetable for the stream 2 orientation camp, Alutanews has reliably gathered.
This was the outcome of a heated discussion on Friday 6th January, 2017, on a Whatsapp group for the PCMs.
The protest proposed to take place on or before the 16th of January 2017 has had numerous graduates, especially those resident in the FCT, signing up to participate.
In the screenshot below, you can see the proponent of the protest, Ado Academicfullo, proposing that the group’s Admin writes to inform the D.G of NYSC of the planned action.
The disgruntled graduates insist that unless such active action is taken the agency may not be perturbed by their plights. Some other proponents, such as B.O Adeku and Amos Mike, also insist that such peaceful protest could force FG to release funds, assuming that is the cause off the continued delay.
The D.G of NYSC had, last December, announced that the orientation camp for the stream 2 PCMs would be in January 2017, even as widespread reports had it that camps were to open on January 4th. But now, the PCMs are worried the date might exceed January if active action is not taken.
