Students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife on Monday expressed their concerns over the closure of the school library due to the on-going warning strike by Non Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU). They thereby urged NASU to have a rethink on the closure of the Hezekiah Oluwasanmi
Library by opening it at least 5-8hours a day throughout the period of
the strike so as to enable students to read and access textbooks and
materials available in the library.
An Engineering student, Tunde Owonikoko, who spoke to Alutanews reporter lamented, “this is really not good for us at all. This is the period we should be spending a lot of time in the library preparing for our forthcoming exam, and that’s when they decided to shut it down”. He joined his voice to that of fellow students pleading with the union members to tamper justice with mercy.
